Inaugural Session

Inauguration by Mr Vikas Anwekar, President ISA Pune Section

In his opening remarks Mr. Anwekar briefed about ISA and its various activities in the field of Automation.

He also briefed about various initiatives taken by ISA Pune Section and gave overview about conference and its agenda.

Keynote Address

For Keynote we had two eminent personalities from the Industry

Keynote address – 1 

Mr Somnath Chakraborty, Senior Director – MindSphere R&D

He started his keynote with outlining the COVID-19 and its positive impact of becoming force multiplier for adoption of digitization in Industry.

During his address he touched upon various benefits and advantages of IIoT, challenges in optimizing manufacturing products, closed loop digital twin and how MindSphere platform can be used to deploy complete Digital Twin.

He also spoke about use case of brake system failure analysis using MindSphere.

Keynote address – 2

Mr Andrew McDonald – Global Director – Digital, Unilever Inc. USA

Mr. McDonald gave overview about Digital Factory initiative in Unilever across the Globe.

During his address he gave insight about the framework they adopted for Digitization of facilities, he covered high level of technical architecture in 5 layers, Data Analytics maturity journey and value creation. Also he talked about Data Boot camps, Digital Factory Toolkit and how Unilever has created community to take this initiative further.

Digitization of Chemical Process by Tata Chemicals

By Mr Prasanna Wadke, Technology Evangelist, IT Business Transformation

Mr. Wadke presented how they have done digitization of one of the world’s largest manufacturing facility of Soda Ash.

During his presentation he talked about many ways to increase overall efficiency of plant keeping in mind proper Cyber Security measures. He also emphasized on importance of Analytics driven approach for successful implementation.

Mr. Hazare talked about Value Creation through digitization automation projects, various challenges like emission norms, challenges in innovation, Investments, collaboration, awareness, and Cyber Security.

Digitization in Consumer Products by Hindustan Unilever

By Mr Vinay Amritkar, Production Manager, Dapada Plant

Mr. Amritkar started his presentation with Global strategy and vision of Unilever.

He presented the use case of real time loss capturing and diagnostic analysis and 

approach they adopted to identify the loss and digital solutions to resolve it.

Industrial IoT Digital Transformation Journey by Godrej

By Mr Swaroop Patil, GM (IT), Godrej Consumer Products Limited

Mr. Patil gave complete overview of implementation of IoT in manufacturing process.

He emphasized on Defining key drivers before starting the IoT project.

Also how overall efficiency in value chain has helped them in operational efficiency, in Process Automation, Recording & Reporting.

Digitization in Siemens Kalwa Factory

Mr Amol Kashid – Head AVATAR 4.0 SRE Digitization Center for Utility

 monitoring 

In this presentation Siemens showcased how MindSphere has been used to Horizontally integrate 22 India location and abroad. Good insight on implementation in infrastructure area, key measurement parameters and performance indicators

Session – II

Panel Discussion on Adoption Strategies & Journey towards Digital Maturity

Mr Vivek Gupta discussed about the Digital strategies and importance of getting data and increasing efficiency of assets. Predictive analysis approach helped them to take actions proactively.

Mr Dhiraj Patil highlighted the issues of connectivity with legacy systems in plant, how they planned their IoT project in modules and plant wise for implementation.

Mr Vinayak Savadi put a Supplier side perspective on importance of IIoT.

He emphasized that automation plays very important and vital role overall and end user involvement is must for digitization journey.

Tech Medley – Demonstration and Use Cases

1) Blockchain Technology

Mr Ashley discussed about the Blockchain Technology.

He highlighted the different use cases and value it delivered like in supply chain and how it has reduced the complexity and time in overall process.

2) Universal Automation

By Mr Sudhir Dembi – Schneider Electric India Pvt. Ltd.

Mr Sudhir Dembi discussed about current model issues, Physical and Digital World and emphasized that Open is not just enough. 

He also discussed about open Process Automation Forum NAMUR.

3) Safety & Security Considerations for Industrial IoT

By Mr Priyasloka Arya – LDRA Technology Pvt. Ltd.

Mr Priyasloka Arya talked about Safety, Security considerations for  Industrial IoT.

He also talked about Safety and Security Life Cycle, V Model and overview of IEC 62443 reference model. Then he discussed about the Safety lapses and layers of protection.

4) Wireless HART Technology

By Mr Vinod Joshi – Zettaone Technologies India Pvt. Ltd.

Mr Vinod Joshi talked about Wireless HART technology, its working principles, special and security related features and why it is key for Digital Transformation.
