About Topic:

Entire world is in the midst of struggle with Covid-19 and industries and specially manufacturing companies are facing multiple challenges and problems. However, in the midst of this challenging phase, every leader is thinking of ways and means of coming out of this at a very quick pace. 

One definitive conclusion is that “digital” will be the new norm.

We propose to discuss the new normal for manufacturing where there are going to be different challenges and how “digital” technologies will help in meeting these challenges. Some of the challenges will be:

•  Visibility of production, assets, WIP, raw material etc.
•  Frequent changes to production plan to handle changing   priorities of customers. Thus agility is critical
•   Workforce hand holding. There may be many new operators due to migration back to rural areas and they will need support from supervisors and maintenance folks
•  Ensure high productivity and minimum downtime, in spite of all the challenges 

Smart Manufacturing and remote assets monitoring and management are two major areas where solutions and technologies already exist that can be leveraged quickly. Pre architected solutions and use case deliverables will be the best way to go ahead.
